Your chances of surviving a heart attack are far better today than just 30 years ago, thanks to new and improved treatments. Still, cardiovascular disease remains the number one killer in America.
When a heart attack occurs, every second counts. The sooner you receive care, the better your chances of surviving – and avoiding debilitating disabilities.
Today’s treatments can literally stop heart attacks in their tracks. If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease, the information on this site is for you. It’s provided by the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, or SCAI, an organization representing heart and vascular specialists around the world.
SCAI’s focus is on helping people with cardiovascular disease to live – and live well.
